There’s a famous line from The Godfather: Part III, “It’s not personal. It’s business.”
There’s a lot of truth to that line and what it means for rational decision-making in business and life. But I’ve learned that as an image consultant, you’re both a stylist and a cheerleader for your client. For me, my business is personal.
As one example, last week one of my clients sent me an email with the subject line: “I Look So Good.” There was no content in the email and frankly, there wasn’t any needed. I knew she was in New York City for an important meeting, and she just wanted me to know that she was ready and excited for the day. Her note put a big smile on my face.
I’m a firm believer that when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good you’re unstoppable. That’s why I wasn’t surprised when my client sent another note later that day with the subject line: “Meeting went great.” I was proud and happy to learn that she “rocked the dress” and that she “was the best dressed person in the room.”
When I received her notes that day, I felt satisfied on both a personal and professional level. Her success made my heart sing!
Until next time,
