Effortless style that is kid friendly
I’m a mom of a toddler and this summer I’ve worked to create a wardrobe that transitions from backyard play, to pool/beach, to errands, to meet up and back again. I’ve focused around easy, breezy styles that transition (and wash) well. Interested? Let’s chat.
“I am in love with Ocean lifting her thousands of white hats in the chop of the storm, or lying smooth and blue, the loveliest bed in the world.”
Jewelry vibes on a warm spring evening.

Jewelry always makes an ordinary day extraordinary. :)
Casual days that pack a punch.
Unexpected details make an every day outfit fun and unique.
Wishing you and yours a warm and Happy Thanksgiving. :)
Inject a little drama into your wardrobe with an exaggerated sleeve. Every part of your day will instantly be upgraded from average to ooo la la. Think about it -- hailing a cab! Signing a check! Randomly standing with your arms outstretched, ha! See what I mean? ;)
Trending Toward Fall
A good wardrobe has a foundation of "basics" -- pieces that are classic enough to stand alone, but are equally happy to play the supporting role to a trendy show stopper. Most people don't find a simple sweater exciting like I do -- in fact, this is the most common gap that I find in my clients' wardrobes. But, I assure you, basics are the perfect canvas to showcase your personal style. And, they serve as a link to other pieces in a wardrobe creating an overall effortless, put together look. Buy quality and you'll find that you'll only have to refresh once every several years.
While it's very popular right now to practice mindfulness -- to be present and appreciate the now, rather than dwell in the past or focus on the future -- it is quite different for fashion. Anything goes and I love it. What's past is present and the future is always being anticipated. For an old soul like me, wide leg vintage plaid pants is just the ticket for an afternoon stroll with my hubs.
Who says fashion has to be serious? Partake in some summer fun and integrate a few patterns into your weekly routine. Not sure what pattern to choose? Here's the test -- if it puts a smile on your face, it's a winner! :)
I find that often the simple act of paring down your wardrobe and making intentional purchases will bring great joy -- less can truly be more!
Make a happy statement -- wear things that make you feel like YOU! Smiles are sure to ensue...
Ever miss out on something you're coveting because your size sells out ridiculously fast? That happened to me with these lovely booties from Kate Spade last year. BUT, after months of hunting on consignment apps like Poshmark, Tradesy, etc., I found them and POUNCED immediately. I'm sharing this in hopes that I help one of you to find a lovely little number that perhaps you thought was long gone. Though I was bummed to have missed out on these last year, I must say the hunt was well worth it -- I scooped them up for a fraction of the price and they were only worn once. Winning! And it feels so goooood. ;)
In every gal's wardrobe there needs to be a special place for statement pieces. These pieces don't have to be super expensive or overly loud, but definitely bold and unique -- and, as such, people will certainly take note. This heavy wool jacquard long vest from Tory Burch is certainly a stand out in, I think, every good way imaginable. Whenever I wear it people come up to me to comment -- it's a great way to make new fashion friends! :)
Neutrals, anything but boring!!
Happiness is date night with my husband. I absolutely love these evenings when we can steal away for a few hours. For evenings like this I enjoy dressing up a bit and a nice neutral palette fits the bill. Simple elegance at its best. :)
Summer in a Shirt :)
Perfect for strolls through a local street fair, farmers market, or al fresco dining with friends, this shirt delivers happiness with ease.
Buy Art When It Speaks To You :)
Some pieces of jewelry are classic and commonplace (think pearls, stud earrings, etc.), but then there are some that are so special and true works of art. I adore this piece that I just picked up. Its neutral tones allow me to pair it with many things and its bold personality adds a nice punch to whatever outfit I'm wearing.
Perfect for leisurely summer walks, casual lawn parties, and impromptu gatherings with friends, playful pants immediately up the fun factor while not overdoing it. Cheers!
It's all in the details...
A wardrobe that sets itself apart is found in the details. Try to find timeless pieces with a unique twist like this chambray shirt I've had for almost ten years! :)
I'm in love with this dress from Tory Burch. Its vibrant floral pattern is so pretty and 100% timeless. It's also super flattering with a contrast border that runs down the middle of the dress from its v-neck neckline (hard to show when you're holding a kiddo, sorry!), creating a lovely lengthening effect. And, the side slits make for effortless movement. If you love the pattern, check out this caftan and this dress. So pretty!
Want to look really put together at the beach? Find a cover up that complements your suit in some way but remember you don't have to be too "matchy matchy". This one paired nicely with the color palette of my swimsuit below but still had it's own personality. Though I felt a bit retro in my suit (think Jackie O or Audrey Hepburn), I felt boho glam when covered up. :)
One Piece Swimsuit
Do any other moms out there have little ones who like to play peek-a-boo with their boobs? Gah!! My little guy does and it made me realize that perhaps a bikini at a public beach isn't the way to go. So, enter this lovely number from, of all places, Loft! I felt very "Jackie O" chic in this. And, despite my son's efforts, my little ladies remained in the suit! :)
Comme Des Garçons
For a dash of fun and style add a Comme Des Garçons PLAY piece to your outfit. I'm loving these shoes -- super comfy and chic.
Beauty in Versatility
Timeless pieces like this dress from Brooks Brothers are your "go-to" for everyday events like business meetings (pair with blazer) or more unique events such as croquet matches (pair with a hat! :)).
Vintage Chic (in honor of Army vs. Navy)
Channeling General Douglas MacArthur in anticipation of tomorrow's Army vs Navy game. "On the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that on other days, on other fields will bear the fruits of victory."
If you do it right, you'll need just one leather jacket to enjoy and last a lifetime. I purchased this one from Ralph Lauren 10 years ago and though others catch my eye each season I never find one that I like more than this one.
Here's how I rock holiday casual chic without looking "too too", i.e. like a walking holiday ornament. ☺️ Pictured here are black/red pants and a heathered hunter green sweater from Billy Reid, Swing Coat from Madewell, and D'Orsay kitten heels from Vince. I warn you, there's more plaid and tartan coming-- 'tis the season!!
Pattern on Pattern
Pattern-on-pattern is totally OK in my book, but make sure you break the busy landscape up with a solid piece. Also, it's important that the patterns be in similar color families. All of these pieces are "old school" JCrew and LLBean (Signature Line), but you can definitely find similar pieces!! Msg me with any questions! #stylist #imageconsultant #newmom #newmomma #ootd
Holiday travel... Ugh, do you feel me?! So, how do you look put together when you're really not? Leather, layer, pattern, texture... Oh! And a super cute babe. ;)
Cozy by the Fire
If you're going to be cozy you might as well be cute too, right? Here's how to look effortlessly chic -- jeans with a tailored leg, cute boots, sweater that offers rich texture, and a hat... always a hat! ;)
It's fall, folks!
If you're like me, then you'll agree that fall is the most wonderful time of year. When leather, and oxfords, and textured pieces (oh my!) are no longer visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, but now greet us in our closets!
Around the Neighborhood
Weekend fun calls for a cute hat and Chelsea boots. :)
As Seasons Start to Change...
It hasn't happened here in Annapolis yet, but I have a feeling that my brothers and sisters up in New England are starting to feel some cooler air in the mornings and evenings. This brings up the great topic of transitional dressing. See how a wardrobe staple (the denim jacket) allows one of my summer leading ladies (Ace & Jig's Maya Dress) to shimmy right into fall with style and ease?
Clean and Minimal
At the end of a busy week, I like to follow the advice of Michael Kors, "Wear black, drink white." You can never go wrong with clean and minimal chic...or a good chard! ;)
To Jump or Not to Jump(suit)?
When it comes to casual dressing, there really isn't any scenario where a jumpsuit doesn't fit the bill. So simple and easy -- go from zero to chic in one piece. Win!
Let Us Turn Up The Beat!
OK, I SWEAR this is our only matching top. But, can you blame me? I saw this tank on Carol Radziwill of Real Housewives of NYC and had to scoop it up. So fun!
Back to Basics
First post since having Teddy and thought it appropriate to start things back up with a classic look using basic wardrobe pieces -- tailored trousers, simple white button down, and classic sandals with a heel that elevates. Easy and elegant. Layer with a blazer or cardi for cooler days and dress up with jewelry for a drinks or dinner out.
About to Pop!
In the homestretch and feeling quite large, but still enjoying dressing my bump without compromising my style or budget. It can be done!
Tailored camo pants paired with loafers and a casual top create a fun, casual look with a bit of a preppy vibe.
Fall is Here! :)
In my opinion, fall is the best time of year. Sure, summer has all the fun, but fall has all the beauty. And October in particular is special. In the words of Anne of Green Gables, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” :)
I love the moment that the joggers are having and I really hope it stays because they are so comfortable and so versatile! Here is a fun, chic way to rock them -- leave the sneaks at home! ;)
Love. This. Dress.
If you’ve seen me at all this summer then there’s a good chance you saw me in one of these dresses – and, yes, I must confess it’s the same dress! So it begs the question, if you like a piece so much do you get it in every color? :)
The Essential Chambray Shirt
I'm sure you've rocked it with jeans or shorts, but what about over a maxi dress? I love this look. Pair a chambray with a dress of any color and you have a "put-together" relaxed look. And, who doesn't want that? ;)
Blue blazer, button down, red pants, and nautical belt... done, done, and done! ;)
Feeling very chic in my Billy Reid Linen Safari Dress.
Navigating the reunion crowds at Princeton University with a look that sports school colors, but could easily transition to other environments.
Stripes on Stripes
Overlooking the INTREPID aircraft carrier in NYC -- the spot of my first date with my wonderful husband (almost four years ago to the day). It was a black tie affair... And one for the record books! As for today's outfit? Stripes on stripes, team! Do it, you won't regret it. ;)
